A spectator was shot and killed when a battle broke out...

A minutes after a fair observing Cinco de Mayo reached a conclusion in Anaheim Sunday night. 

Officials were called toward the north side of La Palma Park not long after 10 p.m. for a report of shots discharged, 

Anaheim Police Department Officer Carringer said.

"We had officials in the recreation area. They heard a discharge," Carringer said.

Examiners said that supporters were leaving the recreation area when a battle broke out 

A 17-year-old suspect for firing a shot.

"That struck a subject that was not engaged with the battle by any stretch of the imagination," Carringer said.

The celebration has been held in Anaheim for a long time and keeps a weighty police presence.

The shooting casualty, depicted distinctly as a grown-up male, was articulated dead at a nearby clinic.

Witnesses said the casualty was a recreation area laborer, yet police have not affirmed the man's character.

There was no word on what might have prompted the battle yet criminal investigators are attempting to decide 

Whether posse association might play had an influence, Carringer said.

Police kept a few adolescents regarding the shooting, including the 17-year-old thought shooter.
