Quebec man charged in connection with ‘Freedom Convoy’ protest in Ottawa


Ottawa police have introduced new prices towards a Quebec man in relation to the “Freedom Convoy” demonstration.

Steeve Charland, 48, of Grenville, Que. was arrested Saturday night by Ontario Provincial Police in Vankleek Hill, Ont., about 100 km east of Ottawa, the Ottawa Police Service stated in a information launch.

Charland is dealing with prices of mischief and counselling to commit mischief.

A former chief of the Quebec-based anti-immigration group La Meute, Charland was performing because the spokesperson for an anti-mandate group referred to as Les Farfadaas, in response to Le Droit and different francophone media. Les Farfadaas have been camped on the Zibi web site in Gatineau, Que. because the convoy protest occupied Ottawa streets throughout the river.

Charland is due in courtroom Sunday.
