Step 1: Log in to Instagram
Click here and log in with your username and password. Once you’re logged in, click Settings on the top-right corner of your screen. A drop-down menu will appear. Click on Account Settings.
This will open a new window where you can access all of your settings. You should see an option that says delete my account at the bottom of your settings page. If you don’t see it, try clicking on privacy or help & support.
If those options don’t work, try logging out and logging back in again before continuing with these steps.
Step 2: Go to Settings
Deleting an Instagram account is surprisingly straightforward. From a mobile device, tap on Settings (located in Profile Icon), and then select Delete Account.
From there, hit Delete My Account and confirm. If you have a desktop computer, go to your profile page. Click on Help Center, then click Privacy & Security, and then click on Deactivate Your Account.
Finally, click Deactivate in order to revoke your access. It’s important to note that deleting an Instagram account doesn’t remove any of your content from their servers immediately.
It does take at least 30 days for data like photos or videos that you’ve uploaded through third-party apps or websites will be removed from Facebook’s servers completely.
Step 3: Delete your Instagram account
You might be wondering, How do I delete my Instagram account? This is actually really easy. Simply click on your profile icon at the top right of any screen
Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Turn off Account.
Then enter in a password you will remember (the password doesn’t actually have to match anything). If you don’t want it used again, tap Temporarily Disable Account or Permanently Delete Account.
How to temporarily disable your Instagram account?
While we’ve already covered how to delete an Instagram account, perhaps you want a break from all things Insta. Fear not, because you can disable your account for a set period of time if you want to take a breather from hashtags and filters.
Here’s how to Click on your profile icon in the top right corner of any screen and select Settings. Then click on Account, followed by Temporary Disable Account.
Select how long you want to be away (from one day up to one year) then click Temporarily Disable Account at the bottom right.
You will be sent an email when it is safe to log back in again, so don’t worry about missing anything important!
