On the heels of its second season, Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba has now released its third season, continuing the Swordsmith Village Arc and introducing several new characters to the mix.
For those of you who have watched it, here’s what you can expect in Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 3, And if you haven’t seen it yet, here’s why you should be watching it this week!
Summary of Season 2
Anime/Manga fans will know that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is an action-packed series with a lot of heart.
At first, it can seem like your average shonen anime (boy meets demon girl, boy falls for demon girl, but fights her anyway), but it’s far from that; it’s actually a lot more serious than people think.
There’s a reason why nobody wants to be part of Smith Village: Demons are everywhere and not just weak demons, there are some pretty serious ones as well!
It’s up to Tanjiro Kamado (the main character) and his family to keep these demons at bay, so he needs all the help he can get.
It’s been a while since we’ve seen new episodes for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba season 2, but we do have some news about what we should expect from season 3!
So let’s take a look at what happened during season 2 and how it led us up to where we are now.
The Swordsmith Village Arc and Its Characters
Demon Slayer has a lot of characters. Like, a whole lot. It can be tough for readers or even casual fans of anime and manga to keep track of them all.
So, here’s an overview of what to expect from each character in The Swordsmith Village Arc: Demon Slayer’s equivalent of season 3 so far.
For those unfamiliar with either anime or manga, we’ll also go over some general information about where to watch Demon Slayer and how to read it if you want more details about any of these arcs.
But first! Let’s talk about swords. Because let’s face it—you don’t get a show called Demon Slayer without learning something about swords.
And that’s exactly what makes Demon Slayer such a fun series to follow.
In fact, its main protagonist is a self-proclaimed Swordsmith Villager who uses his family-made sword to slay demons.
When I say a family-made sword, I mean it literally—his family is actually famous for making some of Japan’s best blades!
Season 3 Episodes 1, 2, and 3 – Recap
In these episodes, we are introduced to our new Swordsmith Village Arc antagonist.
In fact, there are three villains: a strange man dressed as a samurai named Shinmen Takezō; his younger brother, Kobayashi Usui (Hachibei); and their mentor Toki Tousen.
The Sword Smith village is located on an island off of Kyushu and is led by Takahata Shigemitsu.
Although it has been peaceful for some time, recent events have made it clear that they need stronger defenses against pirates. In order to achieve that goal, they will need a special kind of steel known as Superior Steel.
This material can only be created using a secret technique called Ame-no-Murakumo which was taught to them by Takezō years ago.
However, he refuses to teach them how to create it because he believes they are not worthy of having such power.
He wants them to get stronger before he teaches them how to make superior steel. To do so, he challenges them to fight him in order to prove themselves.
If they win, then he will teach them everything about creating superior steel. If they lose, then he takes over their village and turns it into a pirate stronghold!
Character Profile (Goui)
A new addition to season three is Goui. The younger brother of Yoite, Gogi is ready and willing to take up his father’s title as a demon slayer.
However, will he succeed where his older brother has failed? Watch him grow up right before your eyes, experiencing first love and all its drawbacks!
Will he break free from his brother’s shadow or be doomed to eternal failure like Yoite? Only time will tell but with fighting skills akin to Yoite (if not more),
You may see Goui rise up as one of 2018’s anime stars! And yes, he is based on Yuki Yuna Is a Hero’s Togo Mimori!
When Can We Expect It?: Many anime fans are asking themselves when they can expect season three to air.
To answer that question simply: late summer/early fall 2019 at best. But as of now, we’re not even sure if it will be produced!
The last we heard, there were no plans for a third season but we’ll update you as soon as we know more!
As far as how long will it be? (SPOILER ALERT): The first two seasons were 12 episodes each so it’s safe to say you can expect another 12-episode run.
However, if things go well and there is enough demand for more episodes then maybe studio Deen will consider extending it.
But don’t get your hopes up too high! For now, just enjoy what you have and remember: patience is a virtue!
Summary Of The First 4 Episodes Of Demon Slayer Season 3
After defeating Oga, Yaiba heads into a city and stops an assassin from killing a man. The man reveals himself as Toraji, who is being chased by assassins due to his knowledge of a certain manuscript.
He leads Yaiba into an underground catacomb where he has found something amazing, which turns out to be a corpse.
As it moves, however, Toraji reveals that it isn’t human but rather that of a demon who once attacked his village. However, before they can do anything else, more demons appear and attack them both.
With Yaiba’s help though, Toraji manages to kill all of them except for one who flees after revealing that there are more demons headed their way.
The next day at school, Ao informs Yaiba about what happened with him and Nene while they were away: they had been kidnapped by some strange men while she was shopping at her favorite store.
This causes Yaiba to worry that perhaps those men might be connected to Toraji’s demons but before he can do anything else, a teacher announces that there will be a festival taking place that evening.
He is then approached by Aoi who asks if he will participate in it alongside her so that she can win a prize for herself.
