Birbhum News: 8 burnt alive after murder of panchayat leader in Rampurhat | Kolkata News – Times of India

KOLKATA: At least eight people were burnt alive after Bhadu Sheikh, a deputy pradhan of Baguti village in Rampurhat, Birbhum, was murdered on Monday night.
“Eight people were killed in the incident. Seven dead bodies were recovered from a single house. One among the three injured died today morning at the hospital,” said DGP Manoj Malviya
Bhadu Sheikh, a panchayat functionary of Barosal village, was attacked with bombs when he was at a shop on NH-60. He was taken to a hospital where he was declared brought dead.

As he was a popular leader, the mob attacked some of the houses of the opposition gang at the village of Bhadu Sheikh.
Police have so far arrested one person for the murder of Sheikh.
The fire officials said that around a dozen houses were set on fire on Monday night and when they reached the spot on late night they were not allowed to reach the spot to control the fire.


The bodies could not be identified as they had been completely charred.
Fire officials said that from a single house seven bodies were traced.


The bodies were sent to Rampurhat medical college hospital.
